School Readiness

Nature Play
Our learning programs are designed with a special focus on your child’s holistic development. We strongly encourage unstructured nature play that allows children to engage with the natural world, stimulates their senses, and strengthens their immune systems.
Available Programs
Programs at WelloKids Marlborough Road are designed to provide age-appropriate activities and experiences that promote holistic development. Our educators use a blend of structured learning, play-based activities, and child-directed exploration to create a dynamic and engaging curriculum. By focusing on the unique needs and interests of each age group, we aim to foster a love for learning and help every child reach their full potential.
Child-Directed Program
At WelloKids, we believe in the power of child-directed learning, where we encourage young minds to take the lead in their learning journey. Our Child-Directed Program celebrates the individuality and natural curiosity of each child, allowing them to explore their interests and passions at their own pace. Under this program, we provide them with the opportunity to select activities based on their current interests. This eventually helps build a positive self-concept and confidence.
Kindergarten Program
Our Queensland Government-approved Kindergarten program runs daily for 7½ hours for eligible aged children. Activities under this program focus on the holistic development of children and prepare them for school, the next big stage in their lives. Our educators plan activities that encourage children to interact with each other, develop problem-solving skills, , and build confidence. This program also focuses on nurturing your child’s numeracy, language, and literacy skills through activities and play, such as solving puzzles, word games, stories, music, and art.
Outside School Hours Care Program
Our Outside School Hours Care program is a special program for school-aged children, offering vacation care during school holidays. This program services the local schools with children utilising our bus service to access this program for before and after school care. Rooted in the principles of the My Time, Our Place framework, this program recognises the importance of play and leisure in children’s learning and development. It focuses on developing essential skills among school-going children and aims to make learning fun via play and leisure.
Nature Play Program
At WelloKids, we strongly emphasise on the importance of nature play, helping children develop their connection with nature. This program allows the little ones to explore their natural surroundings through unstructured play. Under our nature play program, the use of tools, fire, and loose parts builds confidence, resilience, teamwork, social and emotional skills as well as early literacy and mathematical concepts. As a part of outdoor play, children are engaged in mud play, rain play, sand play, rocks, tool use, tree climbing, and other natural elements. This ultimately stimulates their brain development, enhances their physical abilities, and nurtures a lifelong appreciation for the natural world.
